Sweetheart Brooches

Many of the men wanted to give their wives, mothers, sisters and sweethearts something as a keepsake; and many of these ladies were keen to demonstrate their patriotism and that their loved ones were doing 'their bit'. These circumstances led to the development of sweetheart brooches normally based on a variation of the Regimental capbadge.
