World War One Tribute Medals
When ‘the boys came home’ in 1918 and 1919 many parishes wanted to recognise the service that men from their parish had given. Some parishes gave certificates or engraved tankards, but the most popular token was a ‘tribute medal' which was often worn on the individuals pocket watch chain. The Museum hold several examples from Parishes in Herefordshire.
